Backing Up Your Practice
What is Backing-up?

Backing-up is the process of copying information from the hard drive and placing it on another storage device such as an external hard drive, a compact disc, a floppy disc or other storage media. When you perform a backup of your data, you are not transferring the data; instead, you are duplicating it and then copying it to another location, so that the data is stored safely in more than one location. After performing a back-up, your QuickPractice database file (.qpf) will remain in it’s original location (by default, the QuickPractice directory on your computer's hard drive or network drive), but will also be copied to a s separately on floppy disks, a different directory, hard drive, or an external medium such as a flash drive. Keep in mind that the backup operation in QuickPractice only backs up your Practice data-not the QuickPractice program itself.

! IMPORTANT: Backup at intervals separated by no more than the amount of time and work you are willing to lose. Generally, backing up at least once a day will ensure minimal data loss in the event of an unexpected computer crash/hard drive failure/data base corruption.
